Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake Recipe: A Flavor-packed Twist On Sushi

A flavor-packed twist on traditional sushi that is warm, creamy, and incredibly satisfying.

  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound fresh salmon, skinless and boneless
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 sheet nori, torn into pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  3. In a pot, combine the rice and water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Stir into the cooked rice and let it cool.
  5. In a mixing bowl, flake the salmon, then combine it with mayonnaise, sriracha, and soy sauce.
  6. Spread the sushi rice evenly in a baking dish, top with the salmon mixture, and sprinkle with green onions.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until heated through and slightly golden.
  8. Garnish with avocado slices and nori before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with extra sriracha on the side for those who like it spicier.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
