Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake Recipe: A Flavor-packed Twist On Sushi

  • 1 pound salmon fillet
  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1 sheet nori, cut into strips
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then combine with water in a pot and cook per package instructions.
  3. While the rice is cooking, prepare the salmon by seasoning it and baking it for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  4. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sriracha, soy sauce, and sesame oil to make the spicy sauce.
  5. Once the rice is ready, spread it in an even layer in a baking dish.
  6. Flake the cooked salmon and layer it on top of the rice.
  7. Drizzle the spicy sauce over the salmon and sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and top with nori strips before serving.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add more sriracha to the sauce.
  • Can be served warm or chilled.
