  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Allow to activate for about 5 minutes.
  2. Mix in melted butter, egg, sugar, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and flour. Knead until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  4. Roll out the dough and spread butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, diced apples, and walnuts.
  5. Roll the dough tightly, slice into rolls, and place in a baking dish.
  6. Let rolls rise for another 30 minutes, then bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Allow cooling before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a glaze made of powdered sugar and milk on top of the rolls.
