French Onion Rice

A delicious and comforting dish that combines the rich flavors of French onion soup with the heartiness of rice, all enhanced by the delightful addition of turkey bacon.

  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add butter to the skillet and sauté onions over medium heat until caramelized.
  3. Stir in the rice, beef broth, thyme, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the rice is cooked.
  5. Stir in the crispy turkey bacon and cheese until melted and combined.
