French Onion Chicken Orzo Casserole

A delightful and easy-to-make casserole that combines French onion flavors with tender chicken and orzo pasta.

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup French onion soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss or Gruyère)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions until caramelized.
  3. Add garlic and continue to sauté for another minute.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cooked chicken, orzo, French onion soup, sautéed onions and garlic, salt, and pepper.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and cheese is bubbly.

  • For a creamier texture, you can add a cup of cream to the mixture before baking.
