  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 recipe pie crust
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and salt.
  3. Place the bottom pie crust in a pie dish and fill it with the apple mixture evenly.
  4. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
  5. Cover with the top pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits for steam to escape.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 35-40 minutes until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
