Creamy Smothered Chicken and Rice

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs
  • 4 strips turkey bacon
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add turkey bacon and cook until crispy, then remove from pan.
  3. Brown chicken thighs in the same pan, then remove.
  4. Stir in rice and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add chicken broth and cream, stir, then return chicken to the pan.
  6. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 20-25 minutes until rice is tender.
  7. Mix in crispy bacon before serving.
