- 2 pounds pork shoulder
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons five-spice powder
- 1 teaspoon red food coloring (optional)
- Cut the pork shoulder into long strips and place in a bag.
- Mix soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice wine, sugar, five-spice powder, and food coloring in a bowl.
- Pour the marinade over the pork, seal the bag, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
