Cherry Amaretto Tiramisu

A delightful blend of cherries and amaretto transforms the traditional tiramisu into an exquisite dessert that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup Amaretto liqueur
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the coffee and Amaretto.
  2. Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and lay them in a single layer in a serving dish.
  3. In a bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers.
  5. Top with half of the cherries.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and cherries.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

  • Garnish with additional cherries and a dusting of cocoa powder before serving.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute Amaretto with almond extract and omit the liqueur.
