- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups red wine
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown on all sides.
- Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add red wine, beef broth, and tomato paste. Bring to a simmer.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet and cover. Cook for 25-30 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use a full-bodied red wine.
