- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled
- 1/4 cup ice water
- 4 cups peeled, chopped apples
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add ice water, a tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Roll out dough and cut into circles. Fill with apple mixture and fold to seal.
- Place on a baking sheet, brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
